Benjamin S. who served honorably in the United States Navy recently contacted our organization regarding his situation.  He requested assistance in helping pay his natural gas bill to keep his home warm during this winter.  Our Board of Directors met and made a quick decision and with the donations made by caring citizens his gas bill was paid.

Dear Paul,
I am Praying that your organization may provide assistance. It is help that is desperately needed. With your assistance, my Grandchildren's Christmas Present will be a home with Heat, Hot Showers and Food. It has been a year of unexpected auto repair's and bill collectors. During the 2 month's that our Gas was off; I hated choosing between paying the gas bill, or the rent, but we had to have a place to lay our heads and hoped that our blankets and heaters would keep us warm. Now that it is going to get colder, I am forced to ask for help. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and review my information.

Dear Sir (Paul),
I want to say thank you in advance for the relief you have provided.  It was not just simply for myself, but for my Grandchildren! You see; I have already raised a family previously. My oldest daughter (34 years old) became seriously ill about 6 years ago. Since that time, her Mother has stepped in to help out.  I came about 5 years ago to assist in raising 3 Grandchildren. They are ages 14,6 and 5. The 2 younger children (boys) are Autistic and are always in need of something extra. I have given all that I have and then some more to see to it that they are taken care of. It was a very difficult choice to make because I had already raised a family and thought that I was free and could enjoy the rest of my life by myself. But regardless of my own desires, I realized that my Grandchildren and their Grandmother needed my help. I don't always understand GODS' PLAN for me except to say that I came into this blindly with morality as my guide through the darkest of times. They have become my reason for existing in this world, and I have become one of their guiding light's to what the world is about. All of my Grandchildren call me "Dad" instead of "Grand Dad." They did this on their own, and what's even more surprising and shocking is that my youngest Grandson who is 5 and barely able to do much more than babble most day's calls me "DAD!" If you know anything about Autism, you will know that many of them are unable to talk for a very long time. With the help you have provided,....all I can say is that a simple "THANK YOU" does not seem fair enough. So I will contact Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur to let her know what a great job you are doing for the Veteran of America!!!
