John, a recently discharged US Army veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart has been unemployed since his discharge.  With no family to support him he has been living with friends who have paid for his lodging, food and everyday necessities.  With the help of our supporters John is now going back home to Georgia, where he will enroll in a school of higher education (using the GI Bill).  John is very grateful for the assistance provided as he was able to get his telephone service re-established and pay to have his computer fixed and pay a little back to the friends who have been supporting him.
John sent his thanks via email as follows:

To whom it may concern

I recently received a check from your organization not too long ago and I am sending this
email to thank everyone from the deepest part of me. To everyone that made the decision to
help an old wounded Iraq veteran get back on his feet and start to piece his life back
together I thank you so very much. I was able to pay off some debts with my friends and
get myself back home where there is a better job and education waiting for me and without
the help of this outstanding foundation none of this would be possible for me. I am not
the kind of person that likes to take what they call "hand-outs" because of my roots of a
southern man born and raised in Acworth, Georgia and the military bearing that I still
carry to this day and I would like the thank the foundation in person one day in the
future and repay the money that was given to me that way the money that i received is
returned to you and can be given to another fellow veteran in a similar situation that
might need the same help that i received some day.

Sincerely,

John H.
